We Can Be Heroes premiering on Netflix December 25!

Thank you Netflix for inviting us to the virtual press junket of WE CAN BE HEROES! A movie about superhero’s putting their own natural-born gifts to use to save their parents and the world at large from hideous extraterrestrials.

WE CAN BE HEROES is a sequel to The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl 3-D! We loved the movie, my son has watched it nonstop, and has requested a few of the costumes for next Halloween.

I’m always looking for a movie that teaches values, to be courageous, positively teaching kids to take a chance to make a difference and most importantly teamwork, we are not in this alone, and WE CAN BE HEROES checked off every box

We had the opportunity to interview our superhero on hand, YaYa Gosselin and Vivien Lyra Blair.

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Q: I wanted to know what would you like your audience goers to learn after watching your We Can Be Heroes?

A: Yaya, I would really like them to learn that power comes in all sizes and that you don't no matter how small you are, you can always be a superhero, and I also want them to find hope because right now, I think that's the thing that we need the most. Yes, that is what I want them to learn. Vivien, I agree completely with Yaya word for word.

Q: Did you do your own stunts?

A: Vivien, yes, I did my own stunts and the first two weeks all they did was practice the stunts. Vivien loved practicing with the harnesses and had a blast doing so. Yaya said she’s never been in a harness before so it was a learning experience.

Q: My son asked Yaya and Vivien if there was anything onset that they liked and ended up taking home with them?

A: Yaya, that's a good one. So in my room, Missy's room that was like when I walked into my room I was like oh my God, can you guys just send me like everything from this room so that my room can look like this and so Robert was like Yes, I think so, and the set designer was like no, we can't do that and so but what they did do that was so sweet was that they gave me the record player that was in my room because I love record players and I wanted one for so long, so they actually mailed me the record player from Missy's room which I thought was so sweet.

Vivien, I do remember costumes gave me the overalls the Guppy overalls, they gave me that, and they gave me a bunch of the makeup from the hair and makeup trailer to and that was really cool.

Q: Who was your favorite adult superhero in the film?

A: Yaya said her favorite superhero, after her dad, was either Tech-No or Mrs. Vox. Vivien said after her parents Sharkboy and Lavagirl, it would be Mrs.Vox. My kiddo absolutely agreed with them, he loved the same characters.

Q: How was the the audition process. Did you audition for the role that you are playing? How did you hear that you were selected for the role?

A: Yaya said she was in LA when she got the audition, and she did it at Betty Mae Casting. After the audition she did not hear anything for a month, and she thought, okay, I didn’t get it. Then about a month later, her mom got an email to meet Robert, the director, and then it went from there. She was excited to land the role. Vivien said she also had the audition at Betty Mae and found out she got the role on the same night she passed her belt testing. She said was a great day and they all celebrated

WE CAN BE HEROES premiers Christmas Day, it’s the perfect family movie for Christmas Weekend.
