The first Star Trek series aimed at attracting younger viewers, Star Trek: Prodigy “follows a group of lawless teens who discover a derelict Starfleet ship and use it to search for adventure, meaning, and salvation.”
Star Trek: Prodigy takes place in the Delta Quadrant in 2383, after the events of Star Trek: Voyager. It follows a motley crew of young aliens who must figure out how to work together while navigating a greater galaxy, in search for a better future.
These six young outcasts know nothing about the ship they have commandeered–a first in the history of the Star Trek franchise–but over the course of their adventures together, they will each be introduced to Starfleet and the ideals it represents.
Kate Mulgrew
Kate Mulgrew takes up the mantle of Captain Janeway again in the animated series Star Trek: Prodigy on Nickelodeon.
Janeway (emergency training hologram Janeway, that is) has found its crew.
That's right, Star Trek: Prodigy has filled out its ranks with the voice actors who will appear alongside Kate Mulgrew (Janeway) in the new Paramount+ animated series.
In case you need a reminder, Mulgrew will portray Janeway, a hologram that takes the form of Kathryn Janeway on board the starship of Star Trek: Prodigy

The team is largely known for their writing work in animation. Some of their prior work includes The LEGO Movie and the Netflix series Trollhunters: Tales of Arcadia. Kevin and Dan Hageman’s work on Trollhuntersearned the pair an Emmy for Outstanding Writing in an Animated Program.
The Hageman brothers, “We’re overjoyed about our opportunity to work closely with David Stapf and his entire team at CBS Studios…We have felt nothing but trust and support while collaborating on Star Trek: Prodigy. Not only are we anticipating big things in animation, but the possibilities in the live-action space have us very excited as well.”
Co-Executive Producer: Ben Hibon
Mr. Hibon directed the animated “Tale of Three Brothers” sequence in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1, which was nominated as part of Warner Bros’ VFX submission to the Academy Awards. Hibon along with David Yates also won the British Animation Award for the sequence.
“Getting the chance to work on an IP like Star Trek has been an incredible opportunity, particularly when partnered with the talented teams at Nickelodeon, CBS and Secret Hideout – who have been pushing the boundaries of what animation and serialized storytelling for younger audiences can deliver,” said Hibon.

Brett Gray
Dal (Gray) is a 17-year-old of an unknown species, and fancies himself a maverick, who holds strong onto his unwavering hope even in the toughest of times.

Murf (Baker) is an endearing, indestructible blob whose age and species is unknown. Murf also has curiously good timing and an insatiable appetite for ship parts.
Gwyn Parnell
Gwyn (Purnell) is a 17-year-old Vau N’Akat who was raised on her father’s bleak mining planet and grew up dreaming to explore the stars.
STAR TREK: PRODIGY premieres on Thursday, October 28 on Paramount+ in the U.S. with a one-hour premiere episode.
Following premiere, new episodes will drop weekly on Thursdays for Paramount+ subscribers.
