From the creative minds at Sony Pictures Animation, best known for Spider-Man™: Across the Spider-Verse, and the visual flair of the artists behind KPop Demon Hunters comes GOAT, an original action-comedy set in a vibrant, all-animal world. The story centers on Will, a small goat with colossal ambitions, who earns a once-in-a-lifetime tryout to join the pros and play roarball, a high-intensity, coed, full-contact sport dominated by the fastest, fiercest creatures on the planet. Though his new teammates balk at the idea of a diminutive goat on their roster, Will is determined to change the game forever and prove that “smalls can ball!”
Helmed by director Tyree Dillihay and co-directed by Adam Rosette, GOAT was brought to life under the watchful eyes of producers Michelle Raimo Kouyate, Rodney Rothman, Adam Rosenberg, Stephen Curry and Erick Peyton. Aaron Buchsbaum and Teddy Riley penned the screenplay from a story conceived by Nicolas Curcio and Peter Chiarelli, while executive producers Rick Mischel and Fonda Snyder helped shepherd the project. The voice cast sparkles with talents including Caleb McLaughlin, Gabrielle Union, Stephen Curry, Nicola Coughlan, Nick Kroll, David Harbour and Jennifer Hudson, alongside a stellar ensemble featuring Patton Oswalt, Jenifer Lewis, Aaron Pierre, and more.
When GOAT gallops onto 4K Blu-ray™, Blu-ray™ and digital platforms, fans will unlock a trove of bonus material: Easter Egg Replay, a deep dive into the film’s Animal Aesthetic, a “Make Your Own Pick & Roll Pizza Bites” tutorial with Ayesha Curry, a deleted scene introduced by the filmmakers, and a behind-the-scenes featurette titled Game Recognizes Game. Music lovers can groove along to the lyric videos for “Mention Me” by CORTIS and “I’m Good” by Jelly Roll, and discover how the courts themselves come alive in exclusive cast-and-character profiles. The DVD edition also includes key extras, Game Recognizes Game, All-Star Line-Up, Courts Come Alive and the two lyric videos.
Clocking in at approximately 100 minutes and rated PG for some rude humor and mild language, GOAT’s home-entertainment editions boast stellar technical specs. The 4K Blu-ray delivers 2160p Ultra High Definition in a 2.39:1 aspect ratio, featuring English Dolby Atmos (Dolby TrueHD 7.1 compatible), French (Québec dub) and Spanish audio tracks, plus English and French descriptive audio and subtitles. The standard Blu-ray presents 1080p HD video with DTS-HD MA surround sound, while the DVD offers a crisp anamorphic widescreen presentation with Dolby Digital audio. All Blu-ray™ and 4K UHD packages include a digital code redeemable via Movies Anywhere.
