Exploring MXO Mexican Steakhouse: A Culinary Journey at 826 N La Cienega Blvd, Los Angeles!
Step into a captivating experience at MXO Mexican Steakhouse, where a stunning glass walkway guides you over a lush cactus garden, framed by elegant cypress wood and flickering flames from twin boulders. This vibrant indoor-outdoor venue immerses you in nature, featuring a remarkable central bar adorned with rock elements, a towering olive tree, and a wine closet that seemingly reaches for the sky. The ambiance is further enhanced by levitating boulders and inviting patios equipped with cozy fire pits.
Chef Wes Avila expresses his passion for Mexican culture and cuisine through the menu, stating, “The whole concept is a nod to my roots and my travels throughout Mexico.” A standout dish is his elevated milanesa torta, crafted from a pounded bone-in veal chop. Meat lovers will delight in options like the Birria beef martillo made with wagyu beef shank, a hefty 20-ounce bone-in ribeye affectionately named “the Cowboy,” and succulent la carnita asada served with both corn and flour tortillas.
The culinary journey doesn’t stop there. Savor a grilled cabbage Caesar salad generously topped with parmesan, perfectly crispy papas bravas, and a must-try twist on sweet potato taquitos inspired by his renowned Guerrilla Tacos. To complement your meal, indulge in Mexican-inspired cocktails like the sweet Espijismo, featuring 400 Conejos pineapple-infused mezcal, or select from two delightful Mexican rosé wines by the glass. Don’t forget to save room for dessert—chocoflan with dulce de leche or a generous slice of tres leches cake topped with fresh market fruit.
“MXO was conceptualized by chef Wes,” shares SBE chairman and CEO Sam Nazarian, whose culinary incubator, Disruptive Restaurant Group (DRG), is behind popular brands like Hyde and Katsuya. Nazarian expresses his enthusiasm for the project, stating, “We were so inspired by his passion for the concept that we immediately wanted to work with him. MXO is our first project together, and I cannot wait to continue building our longstanding partnership.”
Nazarian also highlights the collaboration with international superstar Marc Anthony, saying, “It’s an honor to join forces with a longtime friend. Our goal has always been to create something special, merging SBE’s hospitality expertise with Marc and Magnus’ ability to connect with a multigenerational Latino and global audience through their platforms and content.”
In essence, MXO Mexican Steakhouse is not just a dining destination; it’s a celebration of culture, passion, and culinary excellence that invites everyone to experience the heart of Mexico right in Los Angeles.
