Blues Clues with Josh Dela Cruz!
Thank you Nickelodeon for inviting to interview Josh Dela Cruz from Blue’s Clues & You! What a spectacularly fun interview, my kiddo remembered Josh from 2019 Thanksgiving Day parade.
Casting a Filipino American in the title role is a major breakthrough for diversity in children’s television, with Josh Cruz being the iconic show’s first Asian American host.
Born in Dubai, Josh was introduced to the theater by his older sister when he was in the eighth grade. “I never thought in a million years that anything like this would happen,” he said during our interview. “I used to watch the show with my little sister and never thought that I would be in television. It’s been a really humbling experience.”
I asked him what his friends thought of the show, “I started getting tagged in videos and friends started sending me pictures of their kids watching the show. They’re so immersed in it (friends & kids) playing along, yelling and laughing. It’s been such a fulfilling experience for me in every way. And I couldn’t be happier.”

Nickelodeon’s hit interactive preschool series Blue’s Clues & You! will skidoo onto DVD for the first time on June 2, featuring four exciting episodes from the show’s debut season. The series follows beloved puppy Blue and live-action host Josh (Josh Dela Cruz) as they invite a new generation of preschoolers on clue-led adventures and solve a puzzle in each episode.
In the Blue’s Clues & You! DVD collection, fans can help Josh solve games of Blue’s Clues as he tries to figure out what Blue wants for a snack, what present she wants for her birthday, what she would like to do on her playdate and more. The DVD will also include special episodes from Josh & Blue’s VLOG and eight bonus American Sign Language flashcards. Blue’s Clues & You! will be available from Nickelodeon and Paramount Home Entertainment exclusively at Walmart.
