DUMBO Premiere!

Thank you, Disney, for inviting me to the DUMBO Premiere, spectacular is an understatement. The Ray Dolby Theatre is known for the Oscars, but the other night, the Ray Dolby Ballroom was turned into a circus, literally a circus. Stilt walkers entertaining children, circus performers teaching everyone walking by how to balance a peacock feather on the palm of your hand, acrobats hanging from the ceilings, the Strong man, magicians, and stunt-oriented artists. Everyone enjoyed the circus-themed food around the table, food included everything you'd find at a carnival, from corn dogs to corn-on-the-cob to chili fries and epic tables of sweets!

DUMBO Premiere guests were Hollywood A-listers, from Tim Burton, Michael Keaton, Finley Hobbins, Nico Parker, her mother, Thandie Newton, Colin Farrell, Danny DeVito, Eva Green, Angelina Jolie, and Helen Mirren.

Disney's Director Tim Burton, brings his aura of mystery and intrigue to the lovable elephant with the oversized ears and heart of gold. Colin Farrell plays DUMBO caretaker Holt Farrier, when asked what it was like to work on the set of Dumbo he described the set as a, “real-life circus, with trapeze artists and contortionists and wire-walkers. I loved it, every single second."

Danny DeVito, who’s worked with Mr. Burton and DUMBO co-star Michael Keaton on Batman Returns, was loving the fact that he was playing the good guy this time around! Don’t think for one minute Eva Green felt left out, Green had worked with Burton before as well, Burton is loved and trusted by everyone, so working with him is equivalent to coming home, a loud, fun and over the top home.

DUMBO was everything you would expect and more, it was, WOW! It’s a beautiful and heartwarming movie, starring a CGI elephant with a heart as big as his ears. We love Disney for many reasons but most of all after DUMBO I want to shout out from the top of my lungs, I love you Disney and DUMBO! DUMBO is much more than a story about an adorable elephant, it’s about acceptance, the importance of being wanted, needed, heard and most of all loved. No matter what shape, size, color you are, how big your ears might be, it’s imperative to accept everyone. There’s room at the table for all, you have no idea what someone is going through and your part in this big world is to bring ease not misery.

Start of the year my little one experienced bullying and I was able to change his school, I know first hand what bullying does to someone, it’s horrible. Our children are watching us, they learn their behavior at home, so please, take a moment and lead by kindness, be the light that we seek so they may brighten the path for others.

I can’t wait till you see DUMBO, you’ll be blown away by the storyline, costumes, and talent. Tim Burton has worked his magic once again and it’s glorious. DUMBO opens in theatres everywhere on March 29th!
