RALPH BREAKS THE INTERNET Press Junket!

Thank you Disney, for hosting me at RALPH BREAKS THE INTERNET pre-screening and press junket. This was one of the press junkets that had me literally rolling on the floor with laughter. We had the honor of interviewing John C. Reilly (voice of “Ralph,”) Sarah Silverman (voice of “Vanellope,”) Taraji P. Henson (voice of “Yesss,”) Jack McBrayer (voice of “Felix,”) Director Rich Moore, Director Phil Johnston, Producer Clark Spencer and Co-Writer Pamela Ribon.

Imagine having these talented actors and actress in front of you who truly like to be around one another, you can feel the admiration amongst each other and most importantly they are funny as hell, you know shenanigans will ensue. As entertaining the movie is, it touches a lot of important subjects. In today’s society, Cyberbullying and Bullying are prevalent and harmful. Bullying is a HARD STOP for me, as you all know my kiddo who’s 5 was bullied at his school. When I had approached the director of the school, her reasoning was, “boys will be boys.” That excuse drives me batty, it’s 2019, this is unacceptable. When P and I saw the movie, we had a pretty profound conversation and I shared it with the cast and directors.

BelAirMommie: Hi everyone, we saw the movie last night. And my five-year-old, when we left the movie and were in the car he turned and said to me, “you know mama, it's better to tell the truth so you don't hurt someone's feelings.” That one statement allowed us to have a long conversation about the movie, it was amazing. We were talking about what the takeaways were from the movie since he was recently bullied. Everything the film addressed hit home since it was still fresh. Wrecking Ralph opened up conversations that I needed segways too. I wanted to share that with you, you hit a home run! My question is for Sarah. I wanted to know, how was it working with Gal?

RICH MOORE (Director): And that just made the three and a half years working on it worth it. So thank you.

SARAH SILVERMAN: I wish I could say that we did. But we didn't. Because she has been shooting this movie called Wonder Woman. It's not going to do well. So yeah, that was one where we couldn't record together. But I adore her.

RICH MOORE: You guys follow each other on Instagram though. (laughter)

SARAH SILVERMAN: Whatever. Yeah. We have a relationship.

PHIL JOHNSTON: We went to London, Rich and I, three or four times whilst she is shooting that aforementioned film there over the last year. So we went a number of times and worked with her. So it was the one exception where the actors weren't together. But man. You couldn't meet a nicer, humbler woman. She's really cool.

What I really enjoyed about this press junket was that every single person gave great parenting advice. John C. Reilly said something that stopped me in my tracks and I wanted to share it with you. His words are gold if you truly read what he is saying it’s point on.

JOHN C. REILLY: I think the secret (to parenting), I mean, there are many secrets that you can only know through your own personal experience with a child. But I would say the most important thing for me is seeing who the child is as opposed to whom you want them to be or whom you think they will become. But who are they? And that includes what kind of school does this kid need to go to? Not what kind of school does our family go to? What kind of school does this kid need to go to? And if you have more than one kid, it's different for each one. So basically, recognizing the humanity of that person, the distinct identity apart from you. And accepting it.

Isn’t that beautiful, to be a parent and see your child for who they are and not we expected them to be is truly a blessing, not only for the child but the parent. The cast from RALPH BREAKS THE INTERNET leads by example, they each know that they bring something unique to the table and it was embraced by all. How exceptionally mind-blowing to be accepted for who you are, embraced for your uniqueness and ingenuity with open arms. This is RALPH BREAKS THE INTERNET.

Video game bad guy Ralph and fellow misfit Vanellope von Schweetz must risk it all by traveling to the World Wide Web in search of a replacement part to save Vanellope's video game, "Sugar Rush." In way over their heads, Ralph and Vanellope rely on the citizens of the internet -- the netizens -- to help navigate their way, including an entrepreneur named Yesss, who is the head algorithm and the heart and soul of trend-making site BuzzzTube.
