Disney’s 2018 holiday feature film THE NUTCRACKER AND THE FOUR REALMS is in Theaters NOW!!
Thank you, Disney, for inviting me to a pre-screening of THE NUTCRACKER AND THE FOUR REALMS. I was immediately transported to my childhood when my mom took me to see the Nutcracker! I was in awe then and I’m in awe now, it’s mesmerizing.
The vibrant colors, fascinating costumes will have your imagination running wild. Our story takes place on Christmas Eve in London, Klara played by Mackenzie Foy, receives a special egg-shaped box left for her by her recently deceased mother. With it accompanies a note that reads: “Everything you need is inside.” But the key to unlocking the egg is nowhere to be found, and this is where our journey begins. Klara’s adventure leads her to Captain Phillip (Jayden Fowora-Knight) the regents of three realms: Snow (Richard E. Grant), Flowers (Eugenio Derbez) and Sweets (Keira Knightley, as the Sugar Plum Fairy) and much more.
The Nutcracker and the Four Realms is enchanting but most importantly The Nutcracker and the Four Realms is a family holiday movie that everyone will love!
All Clara (Mackenzie Foy) wants is a key – a one-of-a-kind key that will unlock a box that holds a priceless gift. A golden thread, presented to her at godfather Drosselmeyer’s (Morgan Freeman) annual holiday party, leads her to the coveted key—which promptly disappears into a strange and mysterious parallel world. It’s there that Clara encounters a soldier named Phillip (Jayden Fowora-Knight), a gang of mice and the regents who preside over three Realms: Land of Snowflakes, Land of Flowers and Land of Sweets. Clara and Phillip must brave the ominous Fourth Realm, home to the tyrant Mother Ginger (Helen Mirren), to retrieve Clara’s key and hopefully return harmony to the unstable world. Starring Keira Knightley as the Sugar Plum Fairy, Disney’s new holiday feature film “The Nutcracker and the Four Realms” is directed by Lasse Hallström and Joe Johnston, and inspired by E.T.A. Hoffmann’s classic tale.
