KNOTT'S BOYSENBERRY FESTIVAL MARCH 16 - APRIL 8, 2018!

Buckle up people Boysenberry Festival is back and it’s phenomenal! I can’t emphasize enough, you have to get a yearly pass for Knott’s Berry Farm. You can pay $15.16 a month plus tax and there’s NO blackout period. That’s right, you can visit anytime and enjoy all events, especially Boysenberry Festival. Knott’s is open at 10 am daily for all your fun-filled shenanigans. The reason I say a yearly pass is the way to go, because tickets run $43-$79, the pass is $94.

As you know we love Knott’s, it’s a place where the entire family can have fun and eat to your little heart's content. And when I talk about eating, I’m talking about yummy food that will blow your mind away. Especially this time of year, Boysenberry Festival!

If you follow me, you know I have a very picky eater, EXTREMELY! Now here’s the part that thrills me to my very core, as moms we can relate, when your picky eater eats, you're filled with joy! And when my little one is eating chicken, short ribs, corn, etc with boysenberry drizzle, I’m ecstatic and to know that they use real boysenberry and not food coloring, it's AH-Mazing! ” Knott’s vice president of food and beverage Russ Knibbs said. “Each item is unique. We played around with it until we got the right flavor, the right profile on it.” Boy did they NAIL it! Here are a few items that are new, at least new to me and I can’t wait to share it with you.

The Boysenberry Coconut Macaroon is dipped in chocolate ganache, this macaroon was heavenly. Buy a few to take home, have it the next morning with your cup of joe and enjoy!! Next up, Boysenberry Boba Tea, this was so refreshing, I finished it in a second. Boysenberry flavor with yummy tapioca beads bursting with boysenberry taste, you’ll drink it just like I did, in two big gulps, lol. Returning boysenberry favorites, meatballs, alligator, chicken wings and the boysenberry pie milkshake.

When attending the Boysenberry Festival your best bet is to purchase a tasting card. For $30 you’ll try these mouth-watering foods that will have your tastes buds exploding. I’m going to let you in on a secret, take a few zip lock bags. We didn’t finish all of our food when we were at the park, we ate little bites because I wanted to try everything on the card. Bring a ziplock so when you’re done eating you can save the rest for later. I’m glad I did because as I was driving home Preston wanted to eat and boom, I passed the ziplock over and he was munching on healthy food.

Here are the items that will be on your Boysenberry tasting card:

1. Boysenberry Coconut Macaroon

2. Boysenberry Sausage, it’s placed on a freshly baked bun and served with your choice of boysenberry ketchup, mustard, and relish.

3. Slow Cooked Boysenberry Short Rib, the ribs are marinated overnight and braised slowly until they are so tender that the meat falls off of the bone. They are served on a bed of basmati rice and topped with boysenberry hoisin sauce and chopped green onions.

4. Boysenberry Cheese Quesadilla, boysenberry flour tortilla made especially for Knott’s, filled with cotija and mozzarella cheese and served with boysenberry salsa and sour cream.

5. Boysenberry Pierogies, The half-moons of dough are stuffed with Canadian cheddar cheese and Yukon potatoes which is not unusual, but they are served with a side of applewood bacon, sauteed onions, sauteed boysenberries and sour cream.

6.Boysenberry Hummus with Grilled Pita Bread, yum!!!!

7.Boysenberry Elote, it’s covered in boysenberry butter and boysenberry mayonnaise with a hearty coating of cheese. I had 4!!!!!! Yes, 4, hangs head in shame, lol.

8.Boysenberry Chicken Wings, Preston loved these! Drizzled with boysenberry sauce, it’s finger licking good!

Now that I’ve covered the food you need to know about all the activities. I’ll break them down for you and get ready to boogie! 80s Dance Party, greatest music EVER! Dance the night away to classic 80s tunes in Cloud 9 Ballroom. The Boardwalk Ballroom has been sent back in time, featuring Knott’s resident disc jockey, DJ Howly.

Head over to the center of Ghost Town for old-school country festival fun. Join there festival officiate and Judge, Phineas B. Berry, as they host games and fun every hour! You can compete in a Pie Eating Contest or strut your stuff at Line Dancing, Enjoy talented musicians, or even take home a whole Knott’s Boysenberry Pie as a prize in the world famous Pie Walk!

Camp Snoopy Theater is rockin the house! Snoopy and his Peanuts Gang sing, dance, and celebrate at the Camp Snoopy Theatre. As you’re sitting there you can’t help to sing along to the show's cheerful tunes. Head over to the Peanuts Meet and Greet area right after the show for photos with Snoopy and the Peanuts.

With so many shows, from Fiesta with DJ Cruise, Kray Kirk & The Hillbillies, Old Time Melodrama, Snoopy’s Boysenberry Jamboree and The Ghost Town Miners you and your entire family will be entertained. All of this you can do in a day, I would recommend doing it two. See if you can find a room at Knott’s Hotel and experience the Snoopy staycation. Now that's something you don’t want to miss.

Get ready for some EPIC fun at Knott’s and enjoy the Boysenberry Festival. I can't wait to hear all about your experiences! Thank you Knott’s for including my family in this WONDERFUL event, it’s our way of kicking off Spring and an excuse to eat all the yummy food.
