Peter Rabbit, A Movie For the ENTIRE Family!!!!

Thank you, Sony Animation for inviting us to Peter Rabbit Press Junket, Build A Bear and The World Premiere. What an honor to be able to attend such an unbelievable super fun event. It’s extremely surreal to be able to share moments like this with my kiddo. I grew up with Peter Rabbit and coming full circle like this was EPIC.

Peter Rabbit Press Junket we interviewed James Corden, Rose Byrne, Elizabeth Debicki, Domhnall Gleeson, Margot Robbie and Will Gluck. Now one of the reasons. Peter Rabbit will be a huge success, the cast had an easy flow about them, they were genuinely happy to be working together, they were a team. Their camaraderie transcends onto the big screen, as bunnies or humans they portrayed their identities and shined. The personality of each character shines, honestly, I wanted to give each bunny a squeeze. Here’s the great part about our Press Junket, Yahoo Entertainment aired our Press Junket Live. You’ll see what I’m talking about, they shared their experiences and what they loved about the movie. I asked the cast what they wanted children to walk away with and James Corden shared what his little one learned from watching Peter Rabbit.

Now, why you have to see Peter Rabbit, it’s about family, love, knowing when to say I’m sorry and going after what you want. Peter Rabbit is rambunctious, tenacious, full of love and ready for adventure. Most importantly he says sorry when he needs to. What a great thing that all children and adults can remember, saying sorry when you need to. Not allowing your ego or pride to get in the way, this is vital to keep our relationships healthy and intact.

Let me tell you a little bit about Beatrix Potter and how the wonderful life of Peter Rabbit came to life. To earn money in late 1800’s Beatrix and her brother started to print Christmas cards of their own design. Mice and rabbits were gleeful characters. “In 1890, the firm of Hildesheimer and Faulkner bought several of her drawings of her rabbit Benjamin Bunny to illustrate verses by Frederic Weatherly titled A Happy Pair. In 1893, the same printer bought several more drawings for Weatherly's Our Dear Relations, another book of rhymes, and the following year Potter sold a series of frog illustrations and verses for Changing Pictures, a popular annual offered by the art publisher Ernest Nister. Potter was pleased by this success and determined to publish her own illustrated stories. Whenever Potter went on holiday to the Lake District or Scotland, she sent letters to young friends, illustrating them with quick sketches. Many of these letters were written to the children of her former governess Annie Carter Moore, particularly to Moore's eldest son Noel who was often ill. In September 1893, Potter was on holiday at Eastwood in Dunkeld, Perthshire. She had run out of things to say to Noel and so she told him a story about "four little rabbits whose names were Flopsy, Mopsy, Cottontail, and Peter". It became one of the most famous children's letters ever written and the basis of Potter's future career as a writer-artist-storyteller.On 2 October 1902, The Tale of Peter Rabbit was published.”

Could you imagine being this sweet boy receiving these beautiful cards. What a lovely beginning to our favorite childhood story, to know how this began makes me love Peter Rabbit more. She would be so proud at Sony Animation how our beloved Peter Rabbit has come to life. Not only would she be in awe, she would love the storyline. Just as you and your family will adore Peter Rabbit. My kiddo is still talking about the rooster and his little chicks screaming “dadda,” and Peter with all his shenanigans.

Sony Animation, thank you again for everything, we are so lucky and blessed to have been part of this lovely celebration. We are so thankful and grateful for all of it and most importantly to bring to life my favorite childhood story that I may share with my little one.

Peter Rabbit, the mischievous and adventurous hero who has captivated generations of readers, now takes on the starring role of his own irreverent, contemporary comedy with attitude. In the film, Peter's feud with Mr. McGregor (Domhnall Gleeson) escalates to greater heights than ever before as they rival for the affections of the warm-hearted animal lover who lives next door (Rose Byrne). James Corden voices the character of Peter with playful spirit and wild charm, with Margot Robbie, Elizabeth Debicki, and Daisy Ridley performing the voice roles of the triplets, Flopsy, Mopsy, and Cottontail.
