Cirque Du Soleil's LUZIA Review
Cirque Du Soleil's has again put on one of the most fascinating shows I have ever seen. Not only was LUZIA visually magnificent, culturally enlightening, but the humor was both children friendly and parent approved. The entire performance kept me and my daughter completely entranced. At times we would literally turn to each other and gasp because of the outrageous skill set of the performers, like the contortionist…
How on earth does he bend like that?! I began with the question, are they seriously doing this in the middle of the Dodger Stadium and will I be able to see the performance? Luckily, this was not the case. On one of the parking lots, they put up a huge tent. This was great because it limited the number of people per show which made it more of an intimate atmosphere. This also made parking a breeze. Huge bonus! As always, I was early which gave me and my daughter a chance to walk around and check out the scene. There were plenty of places to buy something to eat and sit to wait for the tent to open and all while Mexican themed music played.
The entrance had a picture perfect walkway topped with “LUZIA” in bright lights which was the perfect picture opportunity. If you add up the cost of parking, food, and tickets, you might want to consider the VIP package. You can decide this once you get there because once there, you can upgrade! What does that include you ask? Besides the best seats in the house, which ultimately you're going to want for this performance, it’s a huge private tent with tons of catered food passed around, and an open bar. In the front of the VIP tent is a champagne tower where all guests are greeted with glasses of champagne. I’ve seen Cirque Du Soleil's shows before so I had high expectations when I came to this show. This show will not disappoint! Enter the main character. A lost man who happens to survive after his parachute wouldn’t open via an umbrella. From here he’s entranced by the bird lady whom he follows into her mystical world of acrobatics on a rotating stage that changed every five minutes into something that contained a pool in the middle for a male rope artist, to a trampoline treadmill, to huge swing sets.
My favorite, rain that fell in shapes from the ceiling! The performers were highly skilled and gorgeous to watch fly through the air. This was my daughter’s first Cirque Du Soleil's and I know she will remember this performance. Allow the magic to transport you, you’ll have a wonderful evening.
