THOR: RAGNAROK Press Conference!

Bravo Marvel for depicting Hela as one Bad Ass woman with vengeance, yes Hela is a little crazy, factor in world annihilation and destruction but she is on a mission! Her passion is taken as anger, as it should, but wouldn’t you be a little pissed if you were locked away? Yes, I loved Hela, you might even be thinking I’ve crossed over the dark side, I haven’t, I just reveled in Helas’ character. She was fierce, a force to be reckoned with and the entire cast was phenomenal. During the Press Junket, it was apparent that not only did they all have mutual fondness and respect for one another but they truly all love one another. The side smiles, quick winks, inside jokes, they are a family. This is why Thor: Ragnarok is by far one of the best Marvel movies, sorry Marvel, I do love you! It’s Hela-of-a-movie!

I had the distinct pleasure of letting Cate know that I LOVED Hela, but here’s the funny thing as I was about to express my thoughts, I froze, didn’t know if I could say the word “ass” in badass at a press junket. TOTALLY FROZE after “bad,” talk about being mortified, I wanted Hela (Cate) to open a vortex for me to jump through, EPIC embarrassment and bless Cate for being my savior, see below and have a good laugh! Just an FYI, Taika Waititi jumped in to bust my chops and he did a great job, the heat on my face was cringeful.

Kathy: Cate, your character is absolutely amazing. You are one bad (pause), you know, just phenomenal. (Right here, I wanted to smack myself)

CATE BLANCHETT: Ass.

Kathy: Bad ass - and you are one bad ass.

TAIKA WAITITI: Don’t say, actor.

Kathy: And I appreciate it.

CATE BLANCHETT: Yeah.

Kathy: I do appreciate it.

TAIKA WAITITI: You are one bad actor. [LAUGHTER]

Kathy: You are one bad ass. You are one bad - [LAUGHTER]

CATE BLANCHETT: This was what it was like every day.

Kathy: And so it leads me to my question. So how was it fighting with Chris?

CATE BLANCHETT: I didn’t do enough of it. I, I kept wanting to do more.

CHRIS HEMSWORTH: You wanted to hit me.

CATE BLANCHETT: But no, I - look, it was, it was hugely enjoyable for me. And apart from working with these guys, obviously, the chance to finally, in my deep middle age, to get fit, and to wear that much lycra was really exciting for me. [LAUGHTER]

CATE BLANCHETT: But I worked with Chris’ trainer, Zahki for 20 minutes a day, which doesn’t sound like much, but my god, it was intense. And Zoey Bell who is, I mean, an extraordinary actress in her own right, and director in her own right, but she was my -blessed every day with the fact that she was my stunt double, because when I started, I had to manifest these weapons out of my - I’m not spoiling anything by saying that -

KEVIN FEIGE: Uh-uh.

CATE BLANCHETT: Have I just lost my chance to be in the sequel? [LAUGHTER]

CATE BLANCHETT: I had to - well, I manifest weapons, and I had to throw them, and I could see Taika’s disappointment as I threw it, I said, ‘Ha.’ And I had to stop making the noises, because I’d go, ‘Ha.’ And so I had to close my mouth. And so eventually Zoey suggested that I put some sugar, which was deeply humiliating - sugar packets in my hand so at least I could throw something and be real. And then - yeah, so Zoey helped me with little things like that. She was a great action director. So I moved from the humiliating to the exhilarating in a matter of five days.

MARK RUFFALO: I’m so glad you’re not the only person he looked at like that.

CATE BLANCHETT: I know. It was the suit that you were wearing. It was really bad.

MARK RUFFALO: He looked disappointed in me a lot. [LAUGHTER]

TAIKA WAITITI: Well -You know, Lucky they don’t have the Oscar category for throwing.

Do you see what I mean, they egg each other on, reminded me of my brother and me with all our bantering. I loved them all, couldn’t see THOR: RAGNAROK with any other cast, they were all extraordinary. It’s such a blessing to be invited to THOR: RAGNAROK Press Junket, seeing the backstory of how an absolutely amazing movie comes to fruition and understanding the dynamics, it’s an honor and privilege which I am so extremely grateful for. Thank you Disney, Marvel, for including me, it’s an honor.

Make sure you see THOR: RAGNAROK this weekend, I wish the had a Hela costume for Halloween, I would have loved to dress up as her. Move over Maleficent, Hela with her steel crown or that long black mane of hers will is the greatest costume ever. Slay Hela, Slay!
