THE NUT JOB 2: NUTTY BY NATURE Press Junket, Contest and Premiere!

My daughter and I were graciously invited to attend THE NUT JOB 2: NUTTY BY NATURE premiere! Thank you Open Road Films, Tune Box Entertainment and Gulfstream Pictures for including us on such an outstanding day that we will never forget. THE NUT JOB 2: NUTTY BY NATURE premiere kicked off with a press conference and to be honest, this was my first time at a press junket so I was excited and nervous at the same time, you could say I had butterflies. The press conference was kid friendly, our kiddos were running around and having fun, moms were relaxed and the environment was super mom friendly. I found our seats and we grabbed ourselves a plate of breakfast bites, (breakfast burritos, muffins, and fruit) and waited for the fun to start. I loved the energy in this room! It was a very casual laid back atmosphere with coloring books in the front for kids who wanted to sit in the front row, and people were dressed in jeans. Relaxed and welcoming, what more could you ask for when you know you’ll soon be in a room with mega star power.

Our hosts, The Moms, Melissa and Denise came out and introduced us to the talent and started the Q & A. This is the moment that I thought, “DANG! I’m sitting here with Will Arnett, Maya Rudolph, Bobby Moynihan and Gabriel Iglesias. OMG, I had to absorb the moment, it was mind blowing. Not only was this moment an AHA moment for me but it was just as powerful for my daughter. My daughter heard Will Arnett talk and said, “MOM! That’s Batman from the Lego Movies!” Word of advice, always get front row seats at press conferences. If I had, I could’ve been sitting in front, facing Will Arnett!

The next hour we got to hear the actors talk about their kids, what they do as a family, and of course the movie. Here’s a neat fact, they were never in the same room when they recorded their parts. Each of them did their part separately in a recording room, and then the director spliced their parts together. When asked if this was more of a difficult skill, since more actors like to bounce their creative energy off one another, Maya responded that this was another way of flexing their creative skill. Though it’s a different way of squeezing out the creative juices, it isn’t “harder” per say. They all have children ranging from Gabriel’s 19-year-old son to Bobby’s new three-week old daughter. All the actors were jokingly ganging up on Bobby about what’s to come next! Bobby was even making jokes about his new found parenting skills and as a new parent, he’s too scared to let the baby out of the house! Ahhhh... to be in that new parent phase again.

The outstanding press conference solidifies that no matter how big you are, you can be humble, sweet and amazing, which each of these talented actors were, and factor in super funny, they are remarkable. At the end of the press conference, the actors took pictures with the kids which to me was extremely gracious.

After pictures were taken we were off to see THE NUT JOB 2: NUTTY BY NATURE. Watching this movie means more to me now after meeting the great group of actors that I have immense respect for independently.
