TROLLS...Find Your Happy Place!

From glitter farting TROLLS to Llama pooping cupcakes, this movie has it all and more! Thank you DreamWorks Animation for bringing back my favorite childhood memory. I loved my TROLL collection, I collected each and everyone but alas I have no idea what happened to my treasure of TROLLS. That’s what happens when you grow up and adult, we lose sight of the small things that once brought us joy. I went into this movie thinking, how in the world will they bring TROLLS to life? OMG, hold on to your seat, the moment you sit down, you’ll sing, YES, you will because you'll know EVERY song, you’ll be dancing in your seat and screaming YOLO! Thank you for making this movie because I can share this with my son, I can get him his set of TROLLS and we can play together with these magical beings.

Receiving an invitation from DreamWorks Animation & 20th Century Fox asking to preview the movie and sit at a roundtable with Justin Timberlake, Anna Kendrick, Kunal Nayyar, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, my answer of course is, YES. Top it off we would be interviewing Walt Dohrn (Co-Director), Gina Shay (Producer), Glenn Berger (Writer) and Jonathan Aibel (Writer). Thank you DreamWorks Animation & 20th Century Fox for hosting such a fabulous day, wow!

Our Saturday morning started off with previewing the movie at Fox Studios, which clearly should have been a disco because throughout the entire movie I was dance seating and singing out loud with no shame. TROLLS truly takes you to your “Happy Place”. Afterwards we were off to the Four Seasons in Beverly Hills, for an afternoon of scrapbooking, which once you see the movie you’ll understand and want to make one or a few. Thank you to Fujifilm for providing us Instax Mini 8 so we could snap our pics and fill our scrapebooks. To top it off we were given tasty treats from Yogurtland. Yogurtland has partnered up with TROLLS and created specific flavors just for TROLLS fans. My personal fave was the Butterscotch, yum. Take a peek at the video to see if they're rolling out your favorite flavor, hint if you like peanut butter you’re in luck!

Now with all that fun they also had green room set up where you can go in and take pictures, they superimpose a troll wig on you in the picture. Here’s where my faux pas occurred and I’m going to share it with you, lesson learned, we should really stop, put our phones away and enjoy a moment for what it is. I walk into the room and there was a couple with their kids there, unbeknownst to me they were JT best friends. I let the couple know that they can go in front of me and the kiddos should absolutely take pictures, take your time. Here it is, wait for it... when they started to take pictures I thought this would be a good time to post on social media. I was working on my phone, looking down for a solid 5 to 8 minutes. When I look up I see the room empty, that’s when my friends walk in and say, “Did you say hi to JT, did you take pictures?’....WHHHHAAAAAATTTTTTTTTTT?????? Que head explosion. Apparently as the photographer tells it, he walked in, realized I was on the phone and went ahead of me, took his pics, he thanked everyone, didn’t want to bother me, was as kind as he can be, super polite and left. I missed the entire thing, all of it. What I learned from that, put the phone down and look around or you might miss something, in this case JT standing next to you.

No fret, I got my chance to talk to JT during the round table. I was able to ask my question and let them know exactly what I thought of the movie, see below, I have to let you that these 4 were cracking everyone up. Comedians extraordinaire and they truly got along, their banter was smooth and genuine.

~Kathy : So before I ask my question I’ve got to tell you, I was asked to come see Trolls and I didn’t know what to expect. I want you to know--

~Mr. Justin Timberlake: Why?

~Kathy : Exactly. “Why am here at Trolls?” So I walked in I love the movie and I can’t wait to share it with my son. He’s three. Because the movie was absolutely amazing. The music was

phenomenal. The colors. I mean, just everything about it. I love the Trolls and all the music. So I wanted to let you know how much I loved it. My question is did you guys, were you all in the same studio at least filming it together or did you guys individually go in and do your own scenes and then they just kind of-- ?

~Mr. Kunal Nayyar: I don’t know if you guys did it together but we were, I’m sure Chris too, we were like individual.

~Mr. Christopher Mintz-Plasse: Yes.

~Mr. Kunal Nayyar: It was, Yes, we were all alone.

~Mr. Justin Timberlake: Well, funny enough, all the voice acting, traditionally I think we all just followed that route and did that. They gave Anna and I a shot at doing a couple scenes together but we literally just talked over each other all the time--

~Ms. Anna Kendrick: --Yes, it was not--

~Mr. Justin Timberlake: -- And they were like, “That’s totally unusual-- .”

~Ms. Anna Kendrick: -- I know, I just saw footage of that--

~Mr. Justin Timberlake: -- That’s terrible-- .

~Ms. Anna Kendrick: -- I just saw footage of that day--

~Mr. Justin Timberlake: -- It was terrible-- .

~Ms. Anna Kendrick: -- and I was like, “We’re doing a really bad job.”

~Mr. Justin Timberlake: Yes.

~Mr. Kunal Nayyar: That’s funny.

~Mr. Christopher Mintz-Plasse: When you deliver animated lines you have to hold beats in between each line and that’s not how people talk. You don’t talk, you interrupt each other, so there’s like the vibes just don’t work, Yes.

~Mr. Justin Timberlake: But we did all, funny enough, there was a day where, you know, because the cast sings on Can’t Stop the Feeling, there’s some other little interstitial music pieces. So what was kind of fun for me was I got to see everybody in like 48 to 72 hours of time everybody was kind of coming in and coming out and to do that was fun for me. You guys obviously didn’t have that experience.

~Mr. Kunal Nayyar: No, literally, I’m seeing Anna for the first time 30 seconds ago.

~Ms. Anna Kendrick: It’s going great though.

!Mr. Kunal Nayyar: I think so, so far. With a few more minutes, we’re at 30 seconds right now. Before it goes south.

With all that's said make sure you catch TROLLS on November 4th, get ready to dance, sing and laugh throughout the entire movie. This is one that shouldn’t be missed. Follow TROLLS on Facebook | Twitter | Instagram | #DreamWorksTrolls for up to date shenanigans.

****From the creators of Shrek comes DreamWorks Animation’s Trolls, a smart, funny and irreverent comedy about the search for happiness, and just how far some will go to get it. This hilarious film transports audiences to a colorful, wondrous world populated by the overly optimistic Trolls, who have a constant dance in their step and a song on their lips, and the comically pessimistic Bergens, who are only happy when they have trolls in their stomachs.

After the Bergens invade Troll Village, Poppy (Kendrick), the happiest Troll ever born, and the overly-cautious curmudgeonly Branch (Timberlake) set off on a journey to rescue her friends. Together, this mismatched duo embarks on a rescue mission full of adventure and mishaps – trying to tolerate each other long enough to get the job done.

Utilizing music to further the film's narrative, the Trolls soundtrack is produced by Justin Timberlake and features five original songs including songs by Justin Timberlake, Ariana Grande, Anna Kendrick and Gwen Stefani, in addition to a number of classic hits from the ‘60s through the ‘80s.

Starring: Anna Kendrick, Justin Timberlake, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Russell Brand, Zooey Deschanel, Jeffrey Tambor, Christine Baranski, James Corden, Kunal Nayyar, Ron Funches, Icona Pop, Quvenzhané Wallis, with John Cleese and Gwen Stefani

Directed By: Mike Mitchell; Co-Director: Walt Dohrn

Produced By: Gina Shay.
