Miracles from Heaven

Post is sponsored by my friends at Megan Media & with the Sony Pictures exclusively for the movie release of Miracles from Heaven.

Miracles from Heaven is based on the incredible true story of the Beam family. When Christy Beam (Jennifer Garner) discovers her 10-year-old daughter Anna (Kylie Rogers) has a rare, incurable disease, she becomes a ferocious advocate for her daughter’s healing as she searches for a solution. After Anna has a freak accident, an extraordinary miracle unfolds in the wake of her dramatic rescue that leaves medical specialists mystified, her family restored and their community inspired.

This movie left me in a state of wonderment, our daily lives are filled with routines and little nuances, no matter how mundane, it truly is a miracle. Everyday that we are alive is a blessing. We need to be grateful and appreciative, take the time from our busy lives, put aside our phones, laptop, iPads and be present. Look at our children and take them in, in all their glory. We created this miracle, let them shine bright, be what you needed as a child so they won't go without.

There were moments in Miracle From Heaven that struck a chord, first and foremost this is a TRUE story, yes it's in caps because I want that to sink in. This isn't just a story to amuse you, this truly happened to a family and what kept this family glued together was the love they had for one another. The understanding that each person was their own individual however together they were a force, a family, a bond that is unbreakable.

Christy Beam (played by Jennifer Garner) expressed that her daughter got sick out of the blue. One day she's fine and the next day she's ill. This rocked me to my core, I know that everyday isn't promised but hearing those words stopped me. We have no idea what life has in store for us, we make plans with others without a thought of, "will I live long enough to see that day, will the person I made the plans with live till then." It never crosses our minds because we just expect things to be all right and it will all work out. We need to cherish every moment, look at life with a grateful eye.

When we're kids it's easy to form friendships, it's second nature. However as adults it's harder to find someone to build a friendship with, I think as adults we have certain expectations. Our innocence is lost as we grow older, believing that one can be friends without gaining anything in return from the other person is a rarity in society nowadays.

The friendship that Christy Beam forms with Angela (played by Queen Latifah), I hope that every person reading this has one friend like this. Angela is carefree, funny and charismatic, everything Christy needs.

Angelas' friendship allowed Christy to be herself, Angela accepted Christy with all her pain and suffering. You could see the mutual respect in Angela and Christys' eyes in the movie. The silent understanding, words didn't need to be spoken to grasp that this friendship is pure.

Miracles From Heaven shows us that in our lives everyday, there are tiny miracles that occur, we might not see it but in the end it all comes together. We need to believe that today and everyday something good will occur, we need to hold faith and believe, even when we are at our darkest moment that's when we need to dig deep in our soul and ask whatever your higher power is to give you strength to pull you through and let the light shine.

I'm a firm believer that it takes a village to rally, help and lean on. This movie, the Beams life story solidified it for me. Without our community and friendships we'd have nothing. It's important to build a little village for your family to have, for help, love and kindness.

My hats off to the entire cast, each actor portrayed their character with such authenticity that there was no doubt in my mind, that this is exactly who that person is in real life. From all three kids, to Angela, Dr. Nurko (played by Eugenio Derbez), Kevin Beam (played by Martin Henderson) and the entire cast that's too much to name, all represented their real life persona to perfection.

Jennifer Garner role as the mom of three girls was amazing. I'd like to think that's how she really is with her own kids. Jennifer portrayed Angela’s bond with all her daughters beautifully. Angela knows each child's strength, how to bring out the best in them individually and most importantly the emphasis of the sisters to get along with one another. There's a comradery there and it's magical, a bond that can't be broken.

As a single mom, I know how important family is for my son. I've built a little village of our own and I'm so grateful to my friends, church and family members that are in our lives.

Most importantly I hope that my son sees that I, he, can do anything, everything is possible when you have faith. Even in the word impossible there is "possible", believe in all your heart that what you want, what you wish, will happen. This beautiful life story that's now on the big screen proves anything is possible if you believe. Hold faith and find your inner voice. Most importantly ask for what you want, demand it if you have to and never waiver, your intuition is always spot on.

Faith is the ability to hope in the promise, when you can't yet see the proof.
